reason #10 why joe basura rocks the right part of our front lawn had been languishing for months now. i had put all my sweat into the left side, mainly because it was the bigger part and the hose was on that side, making it easy to put on some kind of timer. i had quickly put down the weed block on both side but i didn't do anything with right side and sure enough, the weeds came back in the places that weren't covered well. i'm assuming the birds also tore apart the weed block since i soon only had strips tacked down by the fabric pegs. the weeds grew along the edges, especially bad along the side separating us and the neighbors driveway. these were insidious fuckers, running along and under the walkway, making the removal of the roots really difficult. i'd get about 2 feet done every few weeks, losing interest quickly or not even try in this heat, then i'd notice with dismay that the weeds returned to the areas i had just done. it was a losing battle. sunday night, after returning from the practice-that-didn't-happen, i noticed that the right side was unusually clean. ??? joe trash came over, on one of the hottest days of the year, and cleared it all out and leveled it. without asking. i almost cried i was so happy. love that guy. now i just have to get a hold of him to find out how much i owe him! |
